The Makita 5402NA makes typical circular saw look tiny. This saw is designed for cutting beams and timbers rather than 2×4’s.

    This is not a beast, girls use it. And I can cut an 8×8 in a single pass despite what the video says. Cut in till you get the saw to the balance point on the first edge of the beam and then rock the saw down the front till you are confident that you have cut full depth to the bottom. Stay in the cut, continue up and across and then rock down the far side. Use steel toed boots and don’t have your stomach in harms way as you complete the cut. A smooth cut that works for me.

    they dont sell mafell in usa. these things are too beast if you ask me id rather roll with a 10″. Unless of course you “really” needed the extra depth.
