what software is the easiest to use to transfer digital tape to a computer?

Posted on July 13th, 2010 by admin in software | 2 Comments »

I want to be able to edit, add music and titles and also to burn a DVD. I am not technically blessed, so I do need software that is easy to use. A friend suggested I buy a ‘video digitizing package’ which will contain both hardware and software.

Here’s a helpful guide for transferring videos to the computer:

http://www.digitalvideoclub.com/basics/transfer.php

You can import the video to the computer with all video editing software – most popular are:
Adobe Premiere/Premiere Elements
Pinnacle Studio
Ulead VideoStudio

or if you’re using Windows XP, included is a free video editor – Windows Movie Maker – which is user friendly.

What software to use to make a magazine cover?

Posted on July 10th, 2010 by admin in software | 5 Comments »

I want to experiement with software to make a magazine cover. Any software thats good at that kind of stuff? Thanks!

Photoshop and Gimp are graphics editing/enhancing applications.
They are not intended for page layouts.
Microsoft Publisher and Adobe InDesign are desktop publishing applications which can be used to create things such as posters, flyers, brochures, magazines and books.
Not sure if free trials are available for either.
Neither is free so purchase is required for continued use.

PagePlus SE is a free desktop publishing app. I use it for quick designs and layouts on my laptop due to it’s smaller size on disk.

Posted on July 7th, 2010 by admin in software | 1 Comment »

I am looking for software that will model and optimize my business. This software has to be able model financials, do enterprise wide planning and be able to tie it all back to my financial statement? I need the ability to run "what-if" scenario’s and see the outcome of my decision, before i actually make the decision.

JTT300, the best software out there is called EO. Which stands for Enterprise Optimizer. The software maker is River Logic. www.riverlogic.com

This software will allow you to model any business in any industry. You have the ability to run what-if scenarios, optimize all areas of your business. Most software pieces out there are only able to model sections of a business, i.e supply chain. With EO you can model all section AND tie it to financials…You get the ability to run P&L statements, Run an M&A analysis, and many more….

Google Tech Talks
July, 25 2007

ABSTRACT

This talk begins with an overview of software development at Adobe and a look at industry trends towards systems built around object oriented frameworks; why they “work”, and why they ultimately fail to deliver quality, scalable, software. We’ll look at a possible alternative to this future, combining generic programming with declarative programming to build high quality, scalable systems.
