how do you remove the chuck on a makita 6233d drill?
I need to replace the chuck on my drill and can’t get the thing off.
There is usually a screw inside the chuck that needs to be released. It needs to be turned clockwise to release it.

I have a Makita LXT battery charger 110V and need it to work in UK?
I know I can get a step down transformer, but as this is a battery charger unit – can’t i just use a straight adaptor or change the plug?
If not – what VA step down do I need?
You need to a 220 to 110 down converter.

Where can I buy a Makita router case?
I just require the case, as it wasn’t supplied with the router,
it’s model no.3612,
I’ve tried Ebay and had no luck so far.
Contact Makita directly, it might be considered an accessory, and be available either directly through them, or special order form teh store youbought the unit from. (Spwecial order means that they do not stock the item, and someone will add it as a line with their next order for stuff.)

Or you could use your new tool and make a case! That could be rather spectacular, and a good justification for the tool, as my other half always wants to knwo "Now what are you going to use THAT for???"
Good luck

Is using an old Makita power tool a stupid idea if I want a low voltage generator?
I am trying to make a microhydro electric power device.
Could a guy use the motor from a power tool as a generator??? Any Suggestions?? – It is a class project and I am the teacher.
The shaft of a power drill is very geared down from the speed of the motor. That would make it hard to turn. If the tool’s gear mechanism uses a worm gear to get the speed reduction it would be close to impossible to get the motor to move easily.
Maybe a used generator from a small car (or boat, bike, or golf cart) would be a better idea. Try looking in a local salvage yard or on eBay to see what is out there.

Makita or Milwaukee Cordless Hammer Drill?
I’m in the market for a new cordless hammer drill. Having read dozens of reviews and opinions, I’ve narrowed it down t either the:
- Makita 18V Li-ion 3 spd, or the
- Milwaukee 18V Li-ion 2 spd.
Which is better cordless drill…for regular trade use in tasks ranging from carpentry to small structural projects? Is the build quality similar?
im a milwakee fan myself, makita to me are built cheaply. if it was me I would buy the milwakee even if it is a few more dollars, or go dewalt, the two brands i like the most
Problem with 2012nb makita planer?
I have the above planer and recently it has been leaving high lines on the wood. They are not always in the same area. I have run the piece thru several times and get the same thing. I have run it on the far left, center and right sides and still lines in it that run from end to end. Yes I changed the blades to new ones and still doing it to my wood. I’ve taken the machine apart and blew every thing out of it with my compressor, Wiped everything I can see, cleaned the rollers, waxed the table basically it looks like it came out of the new box. The new blades were from makita. Did I miss something? Do you know of this problem?
Interesting Question? Changing the blades rules out nicks in the blades or pitch on the blades. What direction is the grain when you run the boards through. Try changing the grain direction and making the lightest cut possible. If you are taking to big of a cut this will mess with the cut as well. You didn’t specify the species of wood so try a different species and see if the problem still exists. If all this fails contact Makita tech support on trouble shooting.
